Privacy Policy

Passport Photo AI ("we", "us", "the app") is built so you can produce passport, visa, and ID photos directly on your device. We collect as little data as possible — this page explains what, why, and for how long.
What stays on your device
Standard passport, visa and ID photo processing runs entirely on your iPhone or iPad and never leaves it:
- Photo capture, cropping and background removal.
- Lighting and color adjustments — brightness, contrast, white balance and similar.
- AI photo verification against document requirements.
- Documents you’ve saved in the app for re-use.
For this standard passport-photo flow we do not upload your photos anywhere.
AI “outfit” feature (optional, off by default)
The app includes an optional feature that uses AI to show you wearing a suit, shirt or blouse — intended for resume and LinkedIn photos, not for official documents.
If, and only if, you choose to use this feature, the photo you select is sent over a secure connection to our AI processing provider, fal.ai, which generates the edited image and returns it. This is the only part of the app that sends your photo off your device — it happens only on your explicit action, and never as part of the standard passport-photo flow.
fal.ai processes the photo solely to produce the result and does not use it to identify you. We recommend reviewing fal.ai’s own privacy terms.
What we collect
We collect a small amount of information to keep the app working and to improve it:
- App diagnostics and crash reports. When the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, we collect anonymous diagnostic data (device model, OS version, the error). This helps us fix bugs.
- Aggregate usage analytics. We track anonymous events like "photo verified" or "purchase completed" to understand how the app is used. We do not link these to your identity.
- Purchase records. Apple processes payments. We receive a purchase receipt from Apple to verify your access. We do not see your card number, address, or full Apple ID.
Third-party services
We use the following services. Each handles your data only for the purpose listed.
- fal.ai — AI image processing for the optional “outfit” feature. Receives the photo you choose to use with that feature, only when you use it, solely to generate the edited result. See fal.ai’s privacy terms.
- Apple App Store — processes purchases and subscriptions. See Apple’s privacy policy.
- Firebase / Google Analytics for Firebase — anonymous app usage and crash diagnostics.
- Meta SDK (Facebook) — install and ad attribution. We only send aggregate, non-personal signals required for measuring marketing campaigns.
Permissions we ask for
- Camera — to let you take a photo inside the app.
- Photo library (read) — so you can pick an existing photo to convert.
- Photo library (add) — to save your finished passport photo back to your library.
You can deny or revoke any of these in iOS Settings at any time. The app will still work, with the relevant features disabled.
Your rights
Because we don’t collect identifying information by default, we cannot link analytics or diagnostic data back to you. If you have any question about your data — or you want a copy or deletion of anything we may have — email us:
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. Changes are reflected on this page with a new effective date.
