Turkey Passport Photo Requirements 2026
A Turkish passport photo must be 50×60 mm on a plain white background. The head — chin to crown — must be 32 to 36 mm. The Directorate General of Population and Citizenship Affairs (NVI) applies these biometric specifications to Turkish passports, the chip-based national ID card (Kimlik), and visa applications.

Background
Plain white only. No textures, patterns, shadows, or coloured walls.
Expression and eyes
Strictly neutral expression, mouth closed, both eyes open. No smiling.
Glasses
Glasses are not recommended in Turkish biometric photos. If worn, no glare and eyes fully visible.
Headwear
No headwear except for daily religious wear that does not cover the face.
Recency
The photo must have been taken within the last six months.
Digital format
For Turkish e-government applications via e-Devlet, digital photos must meet biometric specs at minimum 600×720 pixels.
