e-KTP Photo Requirements (Indonesia) 2026
The photo on your Indonesian e-KTP is captured on-site during the recording session (perekaman) at the Dukcapil / Disdukcapil office, so you cannot make or upload it yourself. The KTP background color is set by your birth year: red for an odd birth year, blue for an even birth year, and orange for foreign nationals. For photos you do make yourself (jobs, school, visa, SKCK), create a pas foto in the required size and background color instead.
Key details
- The e-KTP portrait is taken on-site during perekaman and cannot be uploaded.
- KTP background color follows the last digit of your birth year: odd = red, even = blue.
- For self-made ID photos, produce a pas foto (2x3, 3x4, or 4x6 cm) in the color the office requires.
